Parade Day

We enjoyed the Friday of the August long weekend going to see the parade with Oma and Opa.  The boys had fun getting candy this year, though they were not quite as candy hungry as the teenage boys sitting on the curb in front of us.

 The boys enjoyed playing in Oma and Opa's pool.

 We all went to the "see-saw" park, which is one of the boys favorite parks near Oma and Opa's.

Bunk beds

We decided that we needed to buy the boys new beds when Maddox broke one of the supporting members of his toddler bed.  We originally we going to keep the bunk beds as two separate beds until the boys got older, but we found we had hardly any room left.  Last night was the boys first night on their new bed.  Ajay choose the top, and Maddox the bottom bunk.  For the most part they were alright, and no one has fallen off and hurt themselves, though the boys did decide to come sleep with us in our bed by 1:30am until morning.  Hopefully they will make it through the night in their own bed tonight.

UPDATE: (July 29, 2011)
The boys still have not really decided where each of them should sleep.  One night it was both on the top, then it was Maddox on the top and Ajay on the bottom, then they both decided the wanted to sleep on the bottom.  Luckily the mattress is so much bigger than the crib mattress that they both fit without disturbing the other one.

Strawberry picking

The boys and I went strawberry picking for the first time ever with my parents (first time for me too). Usually I just get the strawberries hand delivered and pre-picked.  I figured this year we would see how the boys would do helping pick the strawberries.  They did a really good job.

Happy Canada Day!!

 We had a great Canada Day and long weekend with family.  We went to see Auntie Julie's new house, which Maddox christened with a rotten bird egg.  He found it in the front planter, he picked it up and then dropped it and the egg exploded on him.  I must say that was one very repulsive smell.  Luckily Julie already had a washer and dryer that worked.  Afterwards we had a BBQ at Uncle Matt's house.

 Today, since we have no air conditioning, we went to a wading pool.

New Bikes!!!

Thank-you to Grandpa and Ranee for giving the boys their new bikes.  They are super happy about them and have been riding them in circles around the house all morning.
