Some more Christmas fun

Today we joined my side of the family at my parents house.  My mom made a very tasty lunch for us all including turkey, potato casserole, fruit salad... Mmmm.

Merry Christmas

We have been having a  great Christmas so far.  The boys left out milk and cookies for Santa.  Ajay wrote the letter to Santa.  The note says "Dear Santa, Enjoy your milk and cookies.  Merry Christmas"

Maddox loves his new car.  The whole car changes color and makes music.

While unwrapping their presents from Santa they said "Mom, Santa has the same kind of wrapping paper as you" ... And I told them we must shop for wrapping paper at the same store.  I think they believed me.

We went to Sage's house for a gathering of Anton's side of the family.  Amara was very interested in the GameCube.

Amara loves her new dollhouse from Uncle Gilles.

Amara hit the jackpot again!

Amara was one lucky girl today because we received a big box from Auntie Gloria.  She received many jackets, shoes, boots (real Uggs!), dresses, pants, some dolls and a play computer.  She will be well dressed for a couple years.  A big thanks to Auntie Gloria!

Christmas cookies

It's that time of year again for Christmas baking.  The boys were excited to help with making sugar cookies.  They helped to cut them out and decorate them.
Sadly, my icing colours aren't all that Christmassy... Unless fuscia is the "new" red.  Either way they are tasty!

Amara eating yogurt

Amara was just so cute messily eating her yogurt that I just had to take a picture.

Christmas concert

It's time again for the annual Christmas concert ( well actually the winter concert, since they can't call it a Christmas concert).  This year the boys class were snowmen.  They sang some songs about what snowmen do at night, like skating, baseball and sledding.

It's time for Santa

The boys were off school today so we decided to brave the mall to see Santa.  We really did have to be brave because it is Black Friday today and the mall was crazy!!  It was almost impossible to get a parking spot.  Luckily for us, these people weren't coming to the mall to see santa.  We only had to wait a couple minutes to see him.  The boys were excited and said they wanted "cars" for christmas.  Amara did not think Santa was all that great (as you most likely can tell).

Amara's art

Amara has taken some interest in drawing and colouring lately.  She likes colouring in the boys colouring books.  Today she had some fun colouring with markers... Luckily they are washable.

Ajay and Maddox's 6th birthday

On the boy's birthday we took the family out for supper at Boston Pizza.  The boys enjoyed the birthday brownies.

Here are some of their presents.

They also had a birthday party with friends at the theatre.  We went to go see the new 'Thor' movie.

Halloween 2013

We had a great Halloween this year.  Ajay was the red ranger from Power Rangers. Maddox was Snake eyes from G.I. Joes.  Amara was Cinderella.  She was super cute toddling from house to house to get candy wearing her Cinderella costume and glittery pink winter boots.

New phone fun

I recently got a new phone after over three years of having my old phone.  So with a much better camera I have been going photo crazy.  Anton thinks all Amara and I do all day is take selfies.  Amara does love to see herself with the front facing camera.

GRADE 1!!!

Today was the boys first day of Grade 1.  They were very excited.  They didn't even complain about me making them walk to school.  I, on the other hand was excited that I could go shopping without anyone complaining  (Amara, luckily is a good shopper).

Beach Day

My sister and I recently took the kids to the beach for the day.  It is the first real beach day that we have had this summer because the other times we tried were just too cold.

The boys made canals to the beach

 Amara loved the pail
She also loved the cookies Auntie Julie brought... maybe a little too much.  She thought they would be tasty dipped in lake water though.

The boys milk shakes were HUGE.

Family Cabin Weekend

We enjoyed a weekend with family at my Uncle Grant and Auntie Lin's cabin. The boys were so excited to leave we actually left about 2 hours before we were really scheduled to leave.  We were supposed to meet up with the rest of the family in a town close to the cabin, we instead had lunch and hung out in a playground beforehand.

There were a lot of gravel roads before we got there.

 The kids did okay though.

 Relaxing after the long drive.

Anton tried fishing again.... still no luck.  Ajay caught one, but it got away.

 The weekend craft.

We made and shot off bottle rocks.  Everyone loved this.

We tried to get them to go into the lake, but sometimes they had different ideas.

 Our meal... Pancakes.  Yum.
