Christmas Time

All our Christmas gatherings, concerts and parties are over for another year.  We had lots of fun at each one.  Here is a selection of picture from what we have been up to.

Amber and Amara - second cousins

Only Amara wanted to go and visit Santa this year.

Amara at her Christmas party at school

She got to see Santa again!

Auntie Julie gave her a barbie!  She loves it!

Ajay and Maddox opening their presents

My mom and dad opening the present I made for them.

The boys are excited about their presents!

Amara got the doll she asked for.

Josie and Shannon

Josie, Grandma and Amara

The kids got a keyboard from Auntie Ghislaine and Uncle Sage.  Luckily for me it comes with headphones too!

Sugar Cookies!

Amara was my little helper making sugar cookies this year.  Luckily for me she loves making them, but not eating them.  She says they are too sweet!  Such a weird thing for a four year old to say.

Gymnastics

Amara took a gymnastics course this past fall.  She really enjoyed learning how to walk on the balance beam, do a somersault, cart wheels and hand stands.

Team Handball

The boys are on the Grade 4 handball team this year.  They are really enjoying playing. Truthfully though I had no idea how to play handball until I looked it up online.  They definitely didn't get any of their athletic skills from me.

Ajay and Maddox's 9th Birthday

This year I went more low key on the boys birthday.  The main thing they like doing is playing video games so we created our own video game area downstairs.  We had two tvs, and two PS3s so that every kid could play at the same time.  It was a beautiful day outside, so they also playing a game of soccer too.

POSTS!!!

This fall both of my boys have had problems with posts.  A couple weeks back Ajay ran into a post while playing football at recess. Now Maddox ran into another post and broke the bottom half of his tooth!!  Ouch!  Luckily we have insurance which covered a bunch and wonderful dentists that gave him a filling and now you can't even tell he lost part of his tooth.

Halloween 2016

This Halloween Amara decided to be a princess once again.  This time her princess dress has fibre optics and lights up, which looks pretty cool.  Sadly, it is really hard to capture on a photo.  Ajay and Maddox went as characters from a tv show called Adventure Time.  Ajay was Finn the Human and Maddox was BMO (video game system).  Maddox's costume was made by me and it looks pretty nice if I have to say so myself.

Amara the Ballerina

Amara attended her first ballet class today at the Civic Centre.  She had a blast and really loved learning how to be a ballerina.  It was really cute to see 10 little girls prancing and spinning around in little tutus.

First day of Pre-school

Today was Amara's first day of pre-school.  She wasn't originally supposed to go to pre-school but a friend that also has a daughter in the class offered to give Amara a ride.  Amara did really well this morning, no tears from either of us.  The first thing she said after she finished her day was "I had fun".  She really enjoyed the whole day and is excited to go back on thursday.

First day of Grade 4

The boys are in grade 4 this year and that means the fun and games are over.  They got the hardest teacher of all three teachers apparently.  They were assigned homework on the first day of school and they have to read 30 minutes a day too.  I think its good though because at least this way they will be challenged in school rather than board.

Winnipeg Beach Family Camping trip

This past weekend our family along with my parents, and siblings all went camping at Winnipeg Beach.  Well, I guess camping is a really loose term because we stayed at a motel nearby the campground.

Amara and myself with her doll sometimes named "Rowdy"

Amara stayed the first night in Oma and Opa's camper and did really well, but then got a little homesick, so she got to stay in the motel the next night.

Julie celebrated her birthday

The kids enjoyed the arcade

We even made a nature suncatcher

Our motel

We had to go on a Pokemon Go walk while we were out there as well.  Luckily we had a beautiful sunset and live music at the stage (Johnny Cash tribute band)
