Boxing Day

On Boxing Day we went to see my family.  We had a great day filled with good food and lots of presents.

Christmas Day

 Christmas was quite exciting this year.  The boys woke up several days before Christmas and asked where the presents were.  So on Christmas morning when Maddox woke up and saw the presents under the tree he was beyond excited.  He yelled "Mommy, Daddy, Santa was here!! He brought presents!!".  He also danced a cute little jig he does when he is super excited.  Oh and by the way all this happened at 3:45 in the morning.  They stayed up all the way until 8:30 in the evening without a nap.  In the afternoon we went to Gilles and Carrie's house for our family gathering.

Wintertime Walk

A couple days ago we took a walk in the park to enjoy the beautiful winter weather.  We found some trails through the wooded areas, where boys enjoyed going on an adventure.  They also like that they could have their own swing in the playground since nobody else was there.

Family Gathering #1

 This past weekend we got together with my mom's side of the family for Christmas.  We enjoyed lots of good food.  The boys loved their presents from Great Oma.  They got playmobile people.

Last weekend we decided to try out the cafe in the new family center.  Maddox had been asking me for days to go and eat there.  They have good simple food like burgers, sandwiches and pancakes, though the prices can add up because they do not have things like fries included with their burger.

Nursery School Christmas Party

My parents and I joined Ajay and Maddox at their class's Christmas party.  We enjoyed a nice snack, singing led by Miss Sonya and cookie decorating.  It was interesting to watch the boys interact with their classmates as I usually don't get to stay in the classroom this long.

Trinidad and Tobago Christmas celebration Party

 The boys got to see Santa a second time this past weekend when we attended a Christmas party for the Trinidad and Tobago Society.  We got to hear a steel drum band and some dancing.  We received a great meal of traditional Trinidad and not so traditional foods.  For dessert we had homemade coconut ice cream.

After dinner Santa, Mrs. Claus and his elves arrived and handed out presents to all the children.

Today we went to see Santa at the mall.  The boys were excited to see Santa this year.  I asked Ajay what he was going to tell Santa he wanted for Christmas, and he said he wanted "candy".
